Can you enlighten me of this concept?

I understand what I see here, but I can never get it right....

Just takes practice. Its easier in my car just because of the positioning of the pedals.

I can never heel toe, but I “right side of my foot, left side of my foot.”

Though even in my Z, the pedal box is too narrow for my size 14 boats to maneuver around enough to really pull off the true method. The pedals are also just barely too far apart, which is why these kits are popular:

Paul Newman’s 300ZX race car used a similar design.

Keeping it short, you blip the throttle while putting your left foot on the clutch to match the revs. Since pressing the clutch lowers engine rpm doing this helps to make shifting smoother and faster. Feels great when you get it just right. Usually done when entering corners also.

I have a pedal kit in my NA. I also have to do it more side of the foot than heel but its all the same thing.

hmmm, yeah.... Maybe I should get some chucks or other smaller shoes to practice with... idk. I just can’t ever seem to get it.

The way my pedals are set up (S197 Mustang), I don’t really heel-toe. It’s more like big toe on the brake and other toes on the throttle.

This may be something to try if you have large feet like me.

Hmmm, ok I’ll try that.

My main problem is to sync the shifting hand with the feet..

Ive only tried this a couple times and I usually end up pressing the brake extra when I try to hit the throttle.

It’s all practice. Took me some getting used to, and I’m still not perfect at it.

Getting the braking right is probably the hardest part. I was braking too hard when I first started.

Looks like he is double clutching too? I have uncoordinated feet... I just blip the throttle good before going for a late brake and catch the revs on the way back down - sloppy but it works ok...

He bliped twice at the same time so I imagine he’s just down shifting twice but taking his foot off the pedal to not ride the clutch.

My limited experience in trying this has been a laughing stock (I did laugh at myself for overrevving the engine)..

I’m gonna get my car soon, then I’ll be off to practice a lot.

Im not doing it intentionally. I just need more practice. :(

I am terrible at it too :( I thought maybe you were doing it on purpose...
